It’s a three day weekend, which means we get an extra cheat day this week 😊
If you haven’t already been to Hundred Acres, you need to add it to your list. They do a really good brunch with unique dishes made of fresh local ingredients you don’t see at other restaurants.
John and I went recently and shared the Beet Hummus (it’s pink, reason #1 to get it…reason #2 is that it was delicious), followed by the Brunch Bowl and the Poached Eggs. The Brunch Bowl was so good – it had spinach, feta, poached eggs, apricots, grains, hazelnuts and a pomegranate vinaigrette. The Poached Egg dish was served over crispy fingerling potatoes that were crusted with cheese, spices and herbs. It was salty, but salt is my favorite flavor. SO GOOD.
The restaurant has such a good vibe. It’s a big space split into different sections. The front room is flooded with natural light thanks the glass facade of the restaurant. There’s a back room that’s more cozy, dimly lit and intimate, and then in the very back there’s another bright and airy garden room that’s like a gazebo.
Hundred Acres gets busy so make sure you have a rezzy. Even if you randomly walk in, though, it’s worth the wait. It’s also great for groups and celebrations.
Hundred Acres is located at 38 MacDougal Street.
