John and I took a different take on brunch last weekend and went to The Greek in Tribeca. No, it wasn’t your typical bacon and eggs type of brunch spot, but it was definitely delicious, and 100% authentic.
In the spirit of brunch, we both got the Bloody Marita cocktail (I think that’s what it was called!). It was different than a traditional bloody mary, mixed with a traditional Greek alcohol, way more spice, and a lighter hint of tomato. I got oven baked eggs with feta and spicy tomato sauce, John got the Greek Sandwich, and we shared Greek fries – they were so good. Like, seriously good. I ate almost all of them.
Aside from the food, the restaurant is decorated amazingly. For fall, the place billows with seasonal foliage: trees full of orange and red leaves, vines intertwined in all the nooks and crannies of the decor, scattered pumpkins and rustic flower arrangements. So cozy. I bet they go all out for winter and the holidays. It’s worth checking out. Such a good date spot!
