I’ve talked before about how Battery Park City is completely changing to become an awesome area, and Wei West is another new restaurant that recently popped up over there. I tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago, on an afternoon that was warm enough to sit outside.
Wei West sits under the covered area across from the Vintry Wine shop, near the Harry’s Italian, Shake Shack and Conrad Hotel. Its unique Asian Fusion menu incorporates specialty sushi, as well as classic Chinese, Thai, and Japanese dishes. It definitely has something to satisfy whatever Asian food craving you may be having. John and I shared the Spring Rolls, I ordered the ‘Hamachi Lover’ special roll which had yellowtail, jalapeno and red caviar, and John ordered good old Pad Thai. We really liked everything we had.
Since the area has an awning, it’s really nice to sit outside even on really sunny days, because you’ll get some shade. The inside of the restaurant was also pretty nice looking, but I always prefer to eat outside once the weather is warm enough 🙂
Wei West is located at 235 Murray St – have you tried it yet?
