Brutally cold NYC winter weather throws my skin completely out of balance. In order to protect it, I look for quality products that are able to nourish and retain moisture. I’ve been trying out some new products and samples that I’ve really started to love.

Tatcha Polished Gentle rice Enzyme Powder is a cleanser that has a totally unique texture comprised of Japanese rice bran with papaya extracts that perfectly buffs and exfoliates my skin. It’s not like typical exfoliants that contain gritty ingredients that almost the skin. The rice bran is so fine and softens in contact with water, so it makes my skin so baby soft.

BUTTERelixir Face Oil, Body/Hair Oil, and Lip Balm are formulated with all-natural oils and ingredients that deliver amazing moisture to my skin and actually retain that moisture overnight and throughout the day. Apricot oil, Rosehip oil, Argan oil, and Rose make up the face oil, which smells delicious and hasn’t caused breakouts for me. The skin/hair oil is made up of 4 simple ingredients: Sweet Almond oil, Argan oil, Lavender and Chamomile Fragrance oil. I’ve been using it for at least a week now and my skin feels amazing. Finally, the lip balm is super hydrating with a natural scent from vanilla and cardamom.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer has done a great job of keeping my skin from getting dry throughout the day, even in the brutal cold. It’s formulated with 4 nourishing oils to completely block out the cold and irritants throughout the day, and help my makeup apply smoothly and stay put. I noticed that my skin looks smoother just by applying this primer in the morning before I even put makeup on.

I have sensitive and breakout-prone skin, so if these products work well for me I would recommend them for anyone! I’ve noticed such a difference in how my skin reacts in the cold compared to last winter when I wasn’t using nourishing products like these.
