Plants have a sneaky way of making us happy. After moving into my new apartment and incorporating live plants into the decor, I realized that they’re more of a necessity than I previously thought. They don’t just make the room look pretty; they detoxify and purify the air, boost oxygen levels, and have been linked to better moods, increased focus, and quicker healing in many studies. I’ve honestly been loving the ‘natural’ feel in my new home. My terrace now houses a small herb garden (which John’s mom graciously made), and I’m in the process of adding wildflowers. Inside, I have a palm tree as well as some ivy and smaller plants scattered around the kitchen, living room and dining room.
When it comes to decor items I bring into my apartment, I always look for things that are unique. When Luludi Living Art reached out to me about a DIY Terrarium class on the Upper West Side, I (obviously) loved the idea. The class was great! Theodora and Liza taught us everything there is to know about air plants and succulents, showed us gorgeous inspiring pieces (that they also have for sale at the boutique), and helped me and John create our own unique terrariums.
To make things even better, Luludi Living Art shares its space with one of my favorite fashion boutiques, Think Closet, so I got to do a little shopping – that’s also why there are clothing racks in the background of my photos 🙂 While I was there, I picked up this Frenchie Summertime Playsuit, and a few crisp white patterned tees.
You can’t go wrong spending an afternoon on the Upper West Side, checking out Luludi’s terrariums, doing some shopping at Think Closet, and getting food at one of the many great cafes in the area.
