This 3-day weekend was packed with celebrations, since it was Valentine’s Day and John’s Birthday. After years (4 to be exact) of doing Valentine’s Day dinner in NYC where you can’t escape the crowds and the pre fixe menus, John and I decided instead to do brunch since Vday fell on a Saturday this year. We went to Pera which is a cool Mediterranean restaurant in SoHo with authentic and tasty dishes. John and I shared the Watermelon Feta Salad, the Crispy Phyllo Rolls, and the Hummus appetizers, and they were all really good.
We went around 2pm on V-day so there were only a few people at the bar, but I liked the decor and the star on the ceiling so I had to post a photo. As much as I love eating at hotspots in the city that are packed with people, sometimes it’s nice to find a gem and feel like I have the place to myself 🙂 I know that this place gets packed for dinner, and I saw them prepping adorable table settings wrapped with red ribbons and flowers for the Valentine’s Day dinner crowd. Also, Pera has a cute outdoor gazebo space that is enclosed in the winter months so you can have an outdoor vibe all year around (which you know I love)! The staff was also telling us that they have a decent sized outdoor space where you can host private events.
After brunch, we walked around SoHo and did some shopping. I picked up these metallic Cole Haan sneakers that I fell in love with once I tried them on and felt how comfy they were. I have to admit, although John and I don’t always agree on everything, he loves shopping around the city, and it’s one of our favorite things to do together. We can spend hours just wandering around, stumbling upon new stores and uncovering little cafes or dessert shops. It’s one of the things I love most about John!
I’ll be posting my full outfit and where you can get everything I’m wearing, so stay tuned!
